ADRIAN, MI - The Chelsea Bulldogs stayed perfect on the season, rolling to a dominant 49-21 victory over Adrian to move to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in Southeastern Conference White play. Chelsea took advantage of Adrian miscues early and set the tone on special teams. After the Maples fumbled a punt deep in their own territory, Nick White punched in a 1-yard touchdown run with 5:47 left in the opening quarter to get the Bulldogs on the board. Shortly after, Gibby Ichesco broke loose for an explosive 50-yard run, setting up a 1-yard quarterback sneak into the end zone from Jax Ichesco to make it 14-0. Adrian responded quickly with an 86-yard touchdown sprint to cut the deficit to 14-7 before the first quarter closed, but Chelsea regained complete control in the second. Jax Ichesco orchestrated a steady drive that ended in a 6-yard touchdown keeper midway through the second quarter. After the Bulldogs defense forced a quick three-and-out, the offense struck again just before the break when Jax connected with Gibby Ichesco for an 11-yard touchdown strike with 52 seconds remaining, sending Chelsea into halftime up 28-7. Adrian opened the second half with a scoring drive to trim Chelsea's lead to 28-14, but the Bulldogs shut the door on any comeback hopes. Capitalizing on Adrian’s second fumbled punt of the night, Gibby Ichesco scampered into the end zone from 5 yards out to restore a three-possession cushion. Following a turnover on downs by the Maples, Jax Ichesco delivered a 48-yard strike to Josh Stephens, leading to a 2-yard touchdown plunge by Nolan Sciackitano late in the third quarter. Nick White officially put the game away with 8:55 remaining in the fourth quarter, breaking free for a 37-yard touchdown run to push the Bulldogs to 49 points. Although the Maples added a late score, Chelsea wrapped up the decisive 49-21 win and now turns its attention to next Friday night, when the Bulldogs host Tecumseh. The idea of running Power T, we're a lot more horizontal than people give us credit for, because Gibby and Jax give us that threat, and they did a great job, and the offensive line is just gotten leaps and bounds better. We got lined up right, and then kind of like you said, the focus is on Bruggeman, and I think we, for the most part, were able to corral him pretty well. He got loose for couple of runs in which we were just out of position, just fundamental stuff. So I'm just really happy overall with how we finished the game.
