It was a banner Thursday for Chelsea Athletics on September 10th, with Bulldogs teams racking up dominant victories, shutout performances, and state-qualifying milestones across multiple sports. Boys Soccer Sweeps Lincoln in Clean-Sheet Fashion The Bulldogs soccer program put on a clinic against Lincoln, keeping the scoreboard completely blank on defense across both levels. Varsity: Chelsea secured a decisive 4-0 shutout against Lincoln. Henry Glendening spearheaded the attack with a multi-goal performance, netting two goals on the night. Preston Paoletti and Jacob Hillis rounded out the scoring with a goal apiece to seal the victory. JV: The JV squad set the tone early in the evening, claiming a convincing 3-0 victory over Lincoln to complete the program sweep. Girls Swim & Dive Edges Out Adrian Behind State-Cut Qualification In a tightly contested SEC matchup, the Chelsea Girls Swim and Dive team pulled off a gritty 98-87 victory over Adrian. The highlight of the meet came from Brooke Paddock, who put together a phenomenal performance in the 200-yard Individual Medley (IM). Paddock punched her ticket to the postseason by officially achieving her state cut time in the event. Boys Tennis Dominates Jackson, Battles Lumen Christi to Draw Chelsea Boys Tennis had a busy and successful day on the courts, coming away unbeaten across two separate team matchups: vs. Jackson: Chelsea put together a flawless performance, sweeping Jackson 8-0 in a complete shutout victory. vs. Lumen Christi: Facing tough competition against Lumen Christi, the Bulldogs fought hard in a tightly contested battle that ended in a 4-4 draw. 9th Grade Football Wins Shootout Against Adrian The Freshmen football team brought the offense in a high-scoring battle against Adrian. Showing grit in crunch time, the 9th grade Bulldogs held off Adrian's late rally to secure a thrilling 38-30 victory. Girls Golf Drives Past Jackson Chelsea Varsity Girls Golf turned in a steady team performance to outstroke Jackson 211 to 245. Leighton Diesing led the charge for the Bulldogs with a team-low score of 46. She was bolstered by strong, consistent play across the lineup: Hannah Beda: 50 Eleanor Hoonhorst: 57 Juliette Beda: 58
