It’s one of the busiest weekends of the spring as the Chelsea Bulldogs enter the "win or go home" stretch. With three different sports kicking off MHSAA Regional play and a heavy slate of invitationals, Chelsea athletes will be competing across Southeast Michigan for a chance to extend their seasons. Friday, May 15th: Regional Friday Varsity Track & Field – MHSAA Regionals Location: Chelsea High School Time: 9:30 AM The Outlook: The Bulldogs have the home-field advantage for the biggest meet of the year so far. Athletes from both the boys and girls squads will be fighting for top-two finishes or state-qualifying times to punch their tickets to the State Finals. Expect the atmosphere at the track to be electric all morning. Varsity Girls Water Polo – MHSAA Regionals Matchup: Chelsea v. Walled Lake Location: Birmingham Seaholm High School Time: 5:15 PM The Outlook: The Bulldogs head to Seaholm to open their postseason quest. This high-stakes match against Walled Lake is the first hurdle in a grueling regional bracket. Varsity Boys Lacrosse – MHSAA Regionals Location: Dexter High School Time: 6:00 PM The Outlook: It’s a rivalry setting for the Regional opener. The Bulldogs will need to bring their best defensive effort to advance deeper into the tournament under the lights in Dexter. JV Baseball Matchup: Chelsea v. Grass Lake Location: Chelsea High School Time: 4:30 PM Saturday, May 16th: Tournament Saturday Varsity & JV Softball – Chelsea Invite Location: Chelsea High School Time: 1:00 PM The Outlook: The Bulldogs host their annual invitational, featuring several top-tier programs. It’s a great opportunity for the team to fine-tune their play before their own postseason begins in a few weeks. Varsity & JV Baseball Matchup: Chelsea @ Livonia Churchill (Doubleheader) Location: Livonia Churchill High School Time: 11:00 AM The Outlook: The Bulldogs head to Livonia for a tough non-conference twin bill. These long Saturday doubleheaders are perfect for building the pitching depth needed for a deep June run. Varsity Girls Water Polo – MHSAA Regionals (Day 2) Matchup: Chelsea v. Grand Blanc or Saline Location: Birmingham Seaholm High School Time: 9:00 AM The Outlook: Depending on Friday's results, the Bulldogs will return to the pool early Saturday to continue their Regional journey against another powerhouse opponent.
