It was a busy and largely triumphant Monday, May 11th, for Chelsea Athletics. From the diamond to the pitch, the Bulldogs showcased their offensive firepower and defensive grit, racking up several lopsided victories against regional rivals. Softball & Baseball: Offensive Fireworks The bats were red-hot in Chelsea today, as both the softball and baseball programs put up eye-popping numbers. • Varsity Softball: The Bulldogs' offense clicked early and often, securing a convincing 16-6 victory over Adrian. • Varsity Baseball: In what can only be described as a historic scoring clinic, the baseball team dismantled Ypsilanti in a double-header. The Bulldogs swept the day with staggering scores of 38-0 in Game 1 and 26-0 in Game 2. Soccer & Tennis: Clinical Wins On the grass and the hardcourts, Chelsea demonstrated superior depth and focus. • Varsity Girls Soccer: The Bulldogs maintained a clean sheet against Northwest, controlling the tempo and finishing their opportunities to secure a 3-0 shutout. • Varsity Girls Tennis: Chelsea dominated the local rivalry against Dexter. The Bulldogs took nearly every flight, finishing the day with a commanding 7-1 team score. Golf & Lacrosse: Tough Competition While the scoring wasn't as high for golf and lacrosse, the Bulldogs continued to battle against deep fields and tough opponents. • Varsity Boys Golf: Competing at the prestigious North Star Invite, Chelsea held their own in a massive field of 23 teams. The Bulldogs finished in 10th place, a solid showing in a high-stakes tournament. • Varsity Boys Lacrosse: It was a tougher night on the turf for the lacrosse team, as they fell to Linden 9-2. Despite the loss, the Bulldogs showed flashes of defensive resilience throughout the match.
