It was a banner day for Chelsea High School athletics as the Bulldogs secured victories across multiple disciplines, showcasing depth, grit, and a fair share of late-game heroics. From the crack of the bat to the splash of the pool, Chelsea’s varsity programs were in top form this Tuesday. Baseball & Softball: A Double Dose of Dominance The Bulldogs took care of business against Adrian in two high-scoring affairs. On the baseball diamond, Chelsea’s pitching staff stifled the Adrian bats, leading to a comfortable 8-2 victory. The Bulldogs' offense remained disciplined, capitalizing on early walks and timely hitting to pull away in the middle innings. Not to be outdone, the varsity softball team put on an offensive clinic. The Bulldogs’ bats were red-hot from the first pitch, cruising to a 13-3 win over Adrian. Chelsea showcased both power and speed, effectively ending the contest early via the mercy rule and proving why they remain a threat in the conference standings. Perfect Day on the Tennis Courts The varsity girls tennis team achieved the ultimate scorecard against Grosse Ile, finishing the day with a perfect 8-0 sweep. Whether it was the precision of the singles players or the seamless communication in the doubles matches, Chelsea didn't drop a single point. It was a masterclass in focus and technique that left Grosse Ile searching for answers. Soccer & Water Polo: Shutouts and Overtime Thrills Over on the soccer field, the varsity girls team continued their defensive excellence. In a hard-fought battle against Tecumseh, the Bulldogs maintained a clean sheet, securing a 2-0 victory. The defense remained organized under pressure, while the strikers made the most of their counter-attacking opportunities. The most dramatic finish of the night, however, took place in the pool. The varsity girls water polo team found themselves in a back-and-forth slugfest with Mason. After four quarters of intense play, the match headed into overtime, where Chelsea managed to find the back of the net to seal a gritty 7-6 win. Schedule Update Due to inclement weather and field conditions, the Varsity Boys Lacrosse match at Tecumseh has been postponed (PPD). This game will be made up on Friday at 6PM. Overall, it was a nearly perfect day for the Bulldogs. With four wins and a thrilling overtime victory, Chelsea continues to build momentum as the spring season reaches its peak.
